Vander Sacramento Vieira, or just Vander, is a Brazilian attacking midfielder, born on 2 March 1988 in Rio de Janeiro.
Vander started out his career in the academy of Madureira. In 1998, the young player joined the youth system of Flamengo, where he began to shine out. Vieira is notable for his pace, good dribbling skills and strong shooting. In 2008, he received a large amount of interest from Portugal; however, the transfer didn’t happen due to Vander’s disinclination to leave Brazil.
In 2007, he became an indispensable part of the squad helping his team finish 3rd in the Champions Youth Cup in Malaysia.
In 2009, Vander was promoted to the senior team of Flamengo. Not having managed to clinch a place in the starting XI, he was loaned to America FC to gain more playing practice. In 2010, Vieira went on loan again, this time to Duque de Caxias. Later that year, he made a comeback with Flamengo.
On 13 July 2012, Vander sealed a contract with Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv.
