Víctor Sánchez Mata is a Spanish defender playing for a la Liga side RCD Espanyol however his position on the pitch may vary.
The first club of Víctor was a side named Europa. Then he moved to the football academy of Barcelona. After Sánchez finished his education he signed for Barça’s reserves. Firstly being appointed for the Barcelona C side he was involved in 38 games in the season 2006/07. After that Víctor was promoted to the B squad in 2007. Owing to his ability to be equally efficient on different positions he was highly valued by the coach Josep Guardiola. The defender quickly became one of the leaders of Barcelona B having played 29 games with 2 goals scored for the side.
This was a good argument for Josep Guardiola, already promoted to the main coach position, to try Víctor in the main squad thus letting him take the pitch in 2009. So Sánchez made his debut for the Catalan side on January 2, 2008.
Sánchez spent the campaign of 2009/10 for a La Liga fresh club Xerez, on loan during which he scored twice in 25 games. Then he was loaned to Getafe for the season 2010/11 when the team from the outskirts of Madrid managed to remain in the Primera division through great effort however.
On June 29, 2011 Víctor and Barcelona cancelled the player’s contract by mutual agreement. It allowed him to accomplish a move to a Swiss side Neuchâtel Xamax. During one season for the side he was used in 14 games where he scored twice. Nevertheless he soon decided to move back to Catalonia, Spain to join the club RCD Espanyol during the January transfer window. Since that time Víctor took the pitch 6 times.
