Adelino André Vieira Freitas, commonly known as Vieirinha, was born on 24 January 1986 in Guimarães, Portugal. He started out at Vitória de Guimarães in 2000 and in three years moved to FC Porto where his professional career began.
However, moving from one loan to another, Vieirinha couldn’t compete for a position in the first team of a top-flight Portugal club as he appeared only in 8 games during three-year spell at Porto. Thus, he played 13 games for FC Marco in 2006 and then 22 games for Leixões SC being out on loan.
In 2009 Vieirinha joined PAOKFC in Thessaloniki, Greece, and played there till 2012. He brought out his full potential scoring 18 goals in 78 games for the Greek Super League club. German VfL Wolfsburg expressed vivid interest in a talented footballer and eventually signed a three-year contract with him. The Portugal forward made his Wolfsburg debut on 22 January 2012 in a match against FC Köln. Yet, he picked up an injury in the first half of the match and had to leave the pitch. Overall, Vieirinha has already played 9 games for the Wolves.
On the national level Vieirinha has played 10 games for the youth national team, still having no games for the Portugal national football team.
