Viktor Elm is a midfielder of AZ. He was born on 13 November 1985 in Kalmar, Sweden.
Viktor’s youth career took off in local Yohansfors and continued in the academy of Nybro IF. Elm completed a move to Kalmar from Falkenbergs FF, where his younger brother Rasmus had already performed. At the end of the season, his older brother David joined Kalmar as well and thus formed the second trio of brothers ever to come on the pitch at the same time for one team in the Swedish Top Division. Viktor and his brothers played a very important role in the second half of the 2006/2007 season, which helped Kalmar to achieve its best result in Allsvenskan (Swedish Top Division) since 1985, as the club finished second in the league and won its third Swedish Cup (previously it lifted the Cup in 1987). In the 2007/2008 season, Elm showed stellar performance and amassed 15 goals during that year, including four goals in the last home fixture of the team. At the end of the season, Elm was voted the Midfielder of the Year in Sweden.
In the autumn 2008, the midfielder sealed a deal with Dutch side SC Heerenveen and officially joined the new club in January 2009. Viktor netted his first two goals for the squad in the 2008/2009 KNVB Cup fourth round match against Feyenoord. The footballer’s first Eredivisie goal came on 8 February 2009 in the game versus NAC Breda.
In June 2012, Viktor put pen to paper of a contract with AZ.
Elm made his international début for the Sweden national team in the match against the United States on 19 January 2008. Viktor also participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification and encountered Denmark on 6 June 2009.
