Villyan Bijev began his career in the California Odyssey youth academy. During his performance for the U-17 team, the forward was confidently making his way to the main goal, which was to get to the first team of the club. However, the things that happened with his career were much better than he expected.
In 2011 Bijev attracted the attention of English Premier League club Liverpool. The same year the footballer went on a trial, which was supposed to show his skills. Villyan managed to pass all tests and moved to England in the summer 2011.
Bijev was ready to play professionally and that is why the club’s management signed a contract with him, but decided to send the footballer on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf. Villiyan went to Germany and made one appearance for the first team before the head coach decided he had to move to the reserve team. The forward played one season there, taking part in 16 matches and scoring four goals.
In 2014 Bijev penned a permanent deal with Slavia Sofia.
