Vito Nova Wormgoor is a defender of ADO Den Haag. He was born on 16 November 1988 in Leersum, Netherlands.
Vito’s career took off in HDS in 1990s’, where he began to perform at the position of a defender. In 1999 Wormgoor received an offer to move to the academy of DOVO. The footballer continued his training and spent seven years on perfecting his skills and getting prepared for a big start. That is what happened in 2006, when Ajax scouts noticed his progress and invited him to play for the youth team of the Rotterdam side club. Vito performed for various junior squads till 2008, but he failed to clinch a place in the main team.
In 2008 Wormgoor penned his first contract with Utrecht for one year and made only seven appearances during his spell.
In 2009 Vito was given an opportunity to become a regular of other Eredivisie club. De Graafschap secured the defender’s services and saw him make encouraging performance, which earned him a key role in the team. From 2009 till 2012, the player featured in 84 games and found the net three times.
Wormgoor was capped seven times for the Netherlands national U-21 squad.
