A Portuguese footballer Vítor Hugo Gomes da Silva plays as a defensive midfielder for Videoton. He was born on 25 December 1987 in Vila do Conde.
In 2005, Gomes started his professional career with Rio Ave. Before getting promotion to the senior level, the footballer trained at the club’s youth department during a year. His first three years were spent making occasional appearances as a starter and as a sub. Vítor didn’t get an opportunity to become the team’s anchor player and that was very disappointing for him. In 2008, Gomes agreed on a temporary deal with Cagliari, where he spent a year. He moved to Italy full of hopes to change the situation, but his loan turned to out a pretty bad egg for him. The footballer made no appearances at all for the temporary team. In the summer 2009, Gomes was welcomed back to his parent club.
In 2013 a loan spell to Videoton followed. At the end of it Gomes signed a permanent deal with the club.
From 2007 to 2010, the footballer was called up 4 times for the Portugal national youth team at U-20 and U-21 levels.
