Vítor Vinha is a defender of Gil Vicente. He was born on 11 November 1986 in Oliveira de Frades, Portugal.
From 2002 to 2004 Vinha was trained at the academy of the Portuguese side Académica where he became one of its best products which allowed him to make it to the main team. In 2004 Vinha started playing professionally with this club. During four seasons Vítor played with Académica where he was used as a reserve player. The head coach had more experienced footballers whom he considered in the first place while choosing the players for the next match. Vinha got the opportunity to feature in 36 matches.
In the summer 2008 the footballer was loaned to Estrela Amadora to get into the necessary shape. During the 2008/2009 season he managed to take part in 8 games for his temporary team where he was utilized as a reserve player.
In 2009, when Vinha’s loan contract was about to expire, the footballer was offered to sign a permanent contract with Nea Salamis. Maybe, it was the only chance for the defender to start getting into the starting line-up, that’s why he sealed a deal with this club. For a season Vinha was one of the key defenders, making 26 successful appearances on the left flank.
In the summer 2010 Vinha penned a contract with Aves, where he also spent one season. The defender gained more confidence; moreover, his solid performance caught the eye of different football clubs. Vinha spent an excellent season with Aves. After that Olhanense, which plays in the Primeira Liga, made Aves an offer to purchase the defender. Both parties soon reached an agreement and in July 2011 Víctor Vinha officially joined Olhanense.
The player did not manage to establish himself as a first team regular and moved to Gil Vicente at the beginning of 2013.
From 2007 to 2008 Vítor Vinha was capped 4 times for the Portugal U-20 and U-21 national football teams.
