Vladimir Beara is a former Yugoslav football player, who later became football manager. He was born in 1928 and played for Hajduk Split between 1946 and 1955. Throughout his stay there the team won the Yugoslav league in 1950, 1952 and 1955. Then he played for Red Star Belgrade until 1960 and the team won the league titles in 1956, 1957, 1959, 1960 and two Yugoslav Cups. After that he had spells at two German teams Alemannia Aachen and Viktoria Köln.
He earned 59 caps for the Yugoslavia national team, played in the World Cup tournaments in 1950, 1954 and 1958. He was a part of the team, winning silver medals in Summer Olympics in 1952.
Beara got a coaching license and guided German, Dutch, Austrian and Yugoslavian teams: Freiburger FC, Fortuna Sittard, NK Rijeka, Fortuna Köln, First Vienna, RNK Split, and BŠK Zmaj Blato. He was the head coach of the Cameroon national team and worked as an assistant coach at Hajduk Split.
