Vladimir Beschastnykh is a former football player from Russia. He was born in 1974 and began his professional playing career at Zvezda Moscow in 1991. Shortly after that he switched to Spartak Moscow. He was included in the first squad in 1992 and played for Spartak until 1994. Then Beschastnykh moved to Germany signing for Werder Bremen and in 1996 he joined Portuguese team Racing Santander, where he played until 2001. In 2001/02 he re-joined Spartak Moscow but for the 2002/03 season he moved to Fenerbahçe and then returned to Russia. There he played for Kuban Krasnodar, Dinamo Moscow, FC Oryol, Khimki and Volga Tver. In 2008 he had a short spell at FC Astana.
After retirement he went in for coaching, got coaching license and began to work as a youth coach. Beschastnykh earned 71 caps and scored 26 goals for the Russia national football team, being called up to play from 1992 to 2003.
