Vladimir Dišljenković is a Ukrainian footballer of Serbian origin. He has double citizenship – Ukrainian and Serbian. Vladimir currently features as a goalkeeper at Metalist Kharkiv. He also used to be a player at the Serbia national football team. The footballer was born in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
Vladimir began his football career at one of the most famous Serbian clubs Red Star Belgrade. The goalkeeper started appearing for the club in the 1998/99 season playing three games at the Serbian SuperLiga. However he occupied mainly a place in the backup. That is why he was released on loan to Napredak Kruševac in the 1999/00 season. However he couldn’t begin to play taking part in only one match.
In the 2000/01 season Vladimir went on long-term loan to Hajduk Beograd for which he managed to play stably. The goalkeeper played 30 matches during that season. When the loan period came to an end Dišljenković began featuring in the first squad of Red Star Belgrade in the 2001/02 season (he played 21 matches in a championship); however, next year he lost the status of the team’s number one again. In the 2003/04 season Vladimir returned to the starting lineup defending the goal in 28 matches including four appearances in Eurocups.
In January 2005 the Serbian goalkeeper transferred to Metalurh Donetsk as a free agent. The first three seasons in the Ukraine were not successful for the footballer: from the beginning of 2005 to the middle of 2007 he was on the net only 18 times. Later Dišljenković ousted all competitors earning a regular place at MetaDon.
So in the 2007/08 season Vladimir played 27 matches where he showed confident game conceding 33 goals. During the following season the goalkeeper improved his performance playing 26 games in which he allowed 28 goals. In the 2009/10 season the Serbian player conceded more goals (34 in 28 matches). He featured in UEFA Europa League where MetaDon withdrew in the fourth qualifying round.
In August 2010 Dišljenković transferred to Metalist Kharkiv becoming one of the first-choice goalkeepers alongside with experienced Oleksandr Horyainov. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season the Serbian player was among substitutes.
On 31 March 2004 the player made his debut for the Serbia national football team in a match against Norway. On 28 May 2008 Vladimir played the whole friendly match against the Russia national football team. Late in August 2010 the goalkeeper acquired the Ukrainian citizenship playing for Ukrainian clubs during five years.
