Vladimir Gabulov is a goalkeeper for Dynamo Moscow. He was born on 19 October 1983 in Mozdok, Russia.
Vladimir was a student at Mozdok Sports School. In 16 years Gabulov was invited to the team of local FC Mozdok, which at the time played in Russian Second Division. Successful performance of the young goalkeeper couldn’t have gone unnoticed. In 2001 Valery Gazzaev, former head coach of FC Dynamo Moscow, invited Vladimir to his team. That same year, the promising goalkeeper was lured to Alania Vladikavkaz, where Gabulov quickly became the main goalkeeper.
At the end of the 2002/03 season Vladimir Gabulov completed a move to CSKA. There Vladimir practically didn’t feature in league matches for two years. Only in 2006 he was allowed to defend CSKA goal three times and two times was used as a substitute. However, as part of the Red-blue Gabulov became Russian Premier League Champion in 2006.
In February 2007 Gabulov joined Kuban Krasnodar and played there for the entire 20007/08 season. In the off-season the goalkeeper played on loan for Amkar Perm and helped the club to reach the finals of Cup of Russia. In the final match against CSKA Amkar was winning 2-0, until its defense collapsed and the match proceeded to penalties. As a result, the winner was determined by penalty shootout, in which Gabulov didn’t save a single attempt.
In May 2008 Vladimir officially joined Dynamo Moscow. The white-blues signed the goalkeeper until 2011. Until the fall of 2010 Gabulov was Dynamo main goalkeeper, until being replaced by Anton Shunin, and later falling out of the starting lineup due to an injury.
In August 2011 Vladimir sealed a 5-year deal with Anzhi Makhachkala. However, the new club decided to help CSKA, which at the time didn’t have a reliable goalkeeper, and loaned them Vladimir Gabulov. Then the goalkeeper signed a loan contract with CSKA for six months. Gabulov’s first match for CSKA in the Champions League was against Lille OSC. In 2013 Gabulov switched for the capital club Dynamo.
Since 2007 Vladimir Gabulov made 10 appearances for the national football team of Russia.
