A Brazilian footballer Vladimir Orlando Cardoso de Araújo Filho acts as a goalkeeper for Santos FC. Orlando was born on 16 July 1989.
In 2003, Vladimir was selected for the junior side of Santos and his career started off. During the junior career the goalkeeper cruised through almost all youth squads of the club. Orlando was a very promising young player and was expected to become a first-choice keeper in future.
In 2009, the management of Santos offered the footballer a professional contract and promoted him to the senior team. But hardly had Vladimir established himself in the main squad, when he was loaned out by Fortaleza. He was hired to perform at the Série B in 2009, but this didn’t happen. The goalkeeper made no appearances at all for the temporary side.
In 2010, the footballer returned to his parent club Santos and his career got an opportunity to go forward at a steady gait. He won the São Paulo State League under the club’s flag three times in a row (in 2010, 2011 and 2012). Vladimir’s the holder of the 2010 Copa do Brasil and the 2011 Copa Libertadores. In 2012, the defender together with the team became the winner of the Recopa Sudamericana. He continues to appear quite often for the first XI.
