Vyacheslav Sharpar. Biography
Vyacheslav Sharpar is a Ukrainian footballer who features for Metalist Kharkiv. He plays as a defensive midfielder and as a central defender. He used to appear for the Ukrainian national youth team. The footballer was born in Zelenodolsk, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
Vyacheslav began playing football in his home town Zelenodolsk being trained at a local sports school. From 2001 to 2003 he featured in the Ukrainian National Youth Competition for Torpedo-Cosmos Zaporizhya, from 2003 to 2004 for Torpedo Zaporizhya. In the summer of 2004 the midfielder moved to Nafkom Brovary. Nafkom played in the Ukrainian Premier League. Sharpar appeared in 9 matches and scored one goal for the team; in the summer of the same year he transferred to Tavriya Simferopol. Being a member of the Crimean team Vyacheslav never took the field for the senior team taking part in 37 matches for the youth team where he managed to net 4 goals.
In the first half of the 2006/07 Sharpar was out on loan featuring for Khimik Krasnoperekopsk. He played 13 games, scored 3 goals helping the team to progress to Round of 16 of the Ukrainian Cup. When the footballer came back to Tavriya he resolved to leave the club. In January 2007 he was on a tryout at Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih where he did not manage to impress the club’s coaches. As a result Vyacheslav transferred to Naftovyk-Ukrnafta Okhtyrka. The footballer together with his became the winners of the First League getting in the prestigious Ukrainian division. Sharpar made his debut on 14 July 2007 in an out match against Metalist Kharkiv.
At the beginning of 2008 the midfielder was released on loan to Illichivets Mariupol repeating his previous achievements and becoming the winner of the First League again. He played 11 matches and scored 1 goal for Lenintsi altogether. At the end of the season Vyacheslav returned to Naftovyk but soon he left it. Looking for a new club the player moved to Poland, but he didn’t sign a contract with any club interested in him. That is why he came back to the Ukraine joining Desna Chernihiv.
Vyacheslav played 12 matches for Desna and then moved to Volyn Lutsk. In the 2009/10 season the defender together with his clubmates became silver medalists of the First League being promoted to the Premier League. Besides, the team from Lutsk advanced to the semifinals of the Ukrainian Cup surrendering the first place to Tavriya Simferopol. Moreover Sharpar got in the first team.
In January 2011 the footballer attended a tryout to Metalist Kharkiv. Being a member of Yellow-Blues Vyacheslav spend winter training session showing his worth. Both clubs could not agree on a transfer fee for a long time. Nevertheless the personal interest of the head coach of Metalist Myron Markevych let the midfielder stay at the new club that acquired him for €2 million.
On 5 March 2011 Sharpar made his debut for Kharkiv appearing in an out match against Vorskla Poltava. The player took part in 7 matches of the Ukrainian Premier League and in 2 matches of the Ukrainian Premier Reserve League. At the end of the season the midfielder became a bronze medalist of the championship. In the summer of 2011 Vyacheslav was released on a long-term loan to Volyn; in the 2011/12 he played for it 24 matches of the Premier league, progressed to the Ukrainian Cup semifinals where his team surrendered to Shakhtar. Sharpar appeared in 4 cup matches netting 2 goals.
When Vyacheslav returned to Metalist he got to play as a central defender more frequently as there was fierce competition between halfbacks. By the beginning of the 2012/13 the player was in reserves. During the winter transfer window the player was loaned to Arsenal Kyiv.
In August 2007 Sharpar was called up by the head coach of the Ukrainian national youth team, Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko. Vyacheslav took part in Valeri Lobanovsky Memorial Tournament together with his peers.
