Wang Lin is a Chinese footballer who currently performs as a defender for Hangzhou Greentown. He was born on September 19, 1987 in Chengdu, China.
Wang Lin cut his teeth as a youngster with Sichuan Guancheng F.C. in 2001. He managed to step into the first team but unfortunately the club was closed down. In 2006 the young defender launched his professional career with Shanghai Liancheng. On April 23 the club’s fans saw him in action for the first time. He appeared in 13 matches during his debut season. At the start of the 2007 season Shanghai Liancheng merged with Shanghai Shenhua and the player was immediately loaned out to Liaoning Guangyuan FC that competed in Singapore’s S.League. Wang Lin figured 18 times during his loan stint at the club. When the season drew to a close, the coach and several players, including Wang Lin, were accused of bribery. So the defender had to stay in Singapore for another four months.
Wang Lin returned to the game only in 2009 and he immediately embarked on a loan spell at Shanghai Zhongbang. The player registered 27 appearances for the club.
Since 2013 the player has featured for Hangzhou Greentown.
