A Brazilian footballer Weldon Santos de Andrade plays as a striker for Romanian side CFR Cluj. He was born on 6 August 1980 in Santo André.
In 1999, Weldon entered the academy of CFR Cluj and his playing career began. In 2000, he signed for Santos and started performing for the senior squad. The striker spent two seasons playing for the club. In total, he netted one goal in 11 matches. The following two years Andrade spent defending such clubs as Brasiliense, Sport Recife and Pronte Preta. In 2004, he moved to Saudi Arabia, where he joined Al Nassr FC. He spent the 2004/2005 season with the club, racking up nine goals in 36 matches.
In 2005, Weldon returned to Brazil and signed for the promoted Cruzeiro. Unfortunately, the young footballer didn’t manage to get the place in the first team and spent almost the whole spell serving loans to numerous clubs. Among them were Soschaux, Troyes, Sport Recife and Belenenses.
In 2009, Andrade joined the Portuguese side Benfica. He debuted for the team in August. The striker spent three years with the clubs but was mostly used a substitute player. He netted five goals in 16 matches during the spell.
In 2011, Weldon agreed on a deal with the Romanian side CFR Cluj. He’d made 13 appearances for the main squad, before he was loaned out by Changchun Yatai to play in the Chinese Super League.
In late 2012 the Brazilian returned to Romania.
