Wes Brown is a back of Sunderland. He was born on 13 October 1979 in Longsight, England.
In 1992 Wes got on a trial to the academy of Manchester United. Brown wanted to join the youth team of the club and passed a series of tests, including a demonstration game, so that to be officially admitted to the youth system of ‘The Red Devils’. Even then the footballer had imperious form and his defender qualities were at decent level. During four years from 1992 till 1996, Wes developed his best skills and was offered to join the main team of MU in 1996.
Brown spent the 1996/1997 season as a senior player of the club. The back’s performance for the Red Devils can be divided into two parts. During the first part, the footballer gained experience and his appearances on the pitch began to acquire regular nature. In the course of time, Wes even managed to become the anchor player either in the centre or on the right flank of defense. The second part is when the footballer performed for the team, but no as often as before. During 16 years in Manchester United, Brown featured in 232 matches and found the net three times.
In 2011 Wes ended his MU spell with Sunderland move, where he got a real opportunity to come on the field in the starting XI, which ‘The Red Devils’ failed to provide, because the club is always enforced by new stars. The back took part in almost every match of the new team during his début season and helped them to stay in the Premier League.
From 1999 till 2010, Brown was capped 23 times and contributed one goal for the Three Lions.
