Wesley Hoolahan is a midfielder of Norwich City. He was born on 20 May 1982 in Dublin, Ireland.
In 2001 Wesley was invited to Shelbourne and penned a contract with the club. He had to overcome high competition in the team, but the young midfielder’s fighting spirit helped him to cruise through all difficulties. Thereby, Hoolahan got to the starting line-up from the following season and amassed 11 goals in 133 matches for his club.
In 2006 Wesley penned a contract on permanent basis with Livingston, where he performed for some time before being sent on loan to Blackpool. The midfielder made 42 appearances and netted eight goals for the temporary club during one season. In the summer 2007, when the footballer’s loan spell ended, Blackpool bought him from Livingston and Wesley penned a contract with the new club, where he took part in 45 games and kicked five goals.
In the summer 2008, Norwich City took an interest in an opportunity to secure Hoolahan’s services and lodged a tempting bid for him, which satisfied ‘The Seasiders’. The deal was finalized in a short term and Wesley officially became a player of Norwich City in the summer 2008. He made 143 appearances and chipped in 27 goals for ‘The Canaries’ during four seasons.
In 2002 Hoolahan was capped three times for the Republic of Ireland national U-21 team. In 2007 he took part in one game of Ireland B and was invited for one match of the full national squad in 2008.
