Wilfried Bony is a striker of Swansea City. He was born on 10 December 1988 in Bingerville, Côte d’Ivoire.
Wilfried spent a lot of years, kicking a ball around on the streets of his native town. Later he was invited to take part in school and town youth competitions.
Bony joined the academy of Cyrille Domoraud and began his youth career in Côte d’Ivoire Premier Division side Issia Wazi three years later. He made 16 appearances and found the net six times for the club. Besides, the footballer participated in the CAF Champions League. In 2007 English side Liverpool lodged a bid for the striker, but negotiations failed.
In 2008 Wilfried completed a move to Czech side Sparta Prague on a three-year deal. The player featured in 59 matches and amassed 22 goals during his spell.
On 30 January 2011, Bony penned a three-year contract with Vitesse, which paid about €4 million for the striker. Wilfried fired his first goal in his début match and managed to kick 46 goals in 65 fixtures for the club during two seasons.
In the summer 2013 Wilfried completed a transfer to the English Premier League by joining Swansea City.
