Wilfried Zaha is a winger of Manchester United. He was born on 10 November 1992 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Wilfried’s youth career took off in the academy of ASEC Mimosas, where the footballer developed his best skills and attracted the attention of various European clubs. English side Crystal Palace took an interest in Zaha and offered him a move to their youth system, which gave the winger a chance to take the quality of his performance to the new level. In 2007, Wilfried accepted the offer and became a trainee of ‘The Glaziers’ academy, where he spent three years and gave the final touch to all the preparations for a senior start.
In 2010, the footballer put pen to paper of his first professional contract and started to make occasional appearances for the team, but his decent display earned him a regular spot in the starting line-up almost at once. Zaha took part in 110 fixtures and netted 12 goals for Crystal Palace till January 2013, when he sealed a permanent deal with top-flight Manchester United. However, The Red Devils decided to give the winger an opportunity to finish the 2012/2013 season with ‘The Glaziers’ and the youngster propelled his former club Crystal Palace to the Premier League.
However, Zaha was not able to impress the new boss David Moyes and was loaned out to Cardiff City for the second half of 2013/2014 season.
In 2011, Wilfried featured in two games for the England national U-19 squad. From 2012, the footballer has been capped six times for the national U-21 team and one time for the full ‘Three Lions’.
