Wilko de Vogt is a retired Dutch goalkeeper. He was born on 17 September 1975 in Breda, Netherlands.
Wilko’s career took off in local NAC, where the footballer performed for the youth team till he was noticed by English side Sheffield United scouts. They offered de Vogt a two-year contract and a place in the senior team of the club, which was rather tempting for the keeper. Wilko accepted the offer in 2001, but managed to come on the pitch only six times for Sheffield United during his spell.
In 2003, due to rare appearances and lack of playing practice, the footballer penned a two-year contract with Dutch side RBC Roosendaal. However, de Vogt did not get what he had been promised and took part only in two fixtures for the club. The same year, the keeper transferred to RKC Waalwijk, where the previous situation repeated itself. In 2004, Wilko completed a move on loan to Oss, where his services were finally appreciated. The player featured in 30 games for the temporary team, which decided to offer him a contract on permanent basis. From 2005 till 2010, de Vogt made 209 appearances for Oss and became the pivot of the club.
However, Wilko decided to try his luck once again and transferred to Dutch side Twente in 2010. The footballer spent one season with ‘The Tukkers’ and saw the field from the substitutes’ bench only. That entailed his wish to make some changes, and the keeper sealed a deal with VVV-Venlo, where the situation got better, but only slightly. De Vogt took part in ten fixtures for the new club during one year and finalized a move to NAC Breda in 2012.
After one season with the club de Vogt retired in the summer 2013.
