Wout Brama is a midfielder of Twente. He was born on 21 August 1986 in Almelo, Netherlands.
Wout began to play football in PH Almelo, where he raised the level of his performance and perfected his skills during nine years, which drew the attention of Twente. At the age of 12, Brama moved to the new club and played for various youth teams till he came of age.
At the beginning of 2005, the footballer penned contract with Twente till the middle of 2008 and continues to perform for the club at the position of a midfielder up till now. His professional début came on 13 August 2005 in the away match against Roda. In the 2006/2007 season, new head coach Fred Rutten came to the club and deprived the player of his place in the main squad, but the management offered Wout an extension till 31 June 2010. The footballer managed to retrieve his place in the first squad only when Steve McClaren was put at the helm of the club at the beginning of 2008/2009. Brama extended his contract till the 2012/2013 season and showed stellar performance in 2009/2010, as he performed for the starting XI and managed to clinch the Eredivisie Champion title. On 28 November 2009, Wout netted his first goal in the game versus Willem II, which ended in a 3-1 victory for the footballer’s team. At the beginning of 2011, the management offered Brama an extension till the summer 2014.
The player made over 200 league appearances and found the net four times for Twente during his career. Besides, Wout was capped three times for the Netherlands national team.
