Wu Yan is a Chinese goalkeeper who plays for Wuhan Zall in the Chinese Super League. He was born on 7 January 1989 in Jiangdu County, China.
As a youth Wu was groomed at Gao Fengwen Football School in between 1999 and 2005. In 2007, he signed his first professional contract with Wuhan Optics Valley but didn’t manage to play a single league match for the club being a backup keeper. In 2009, Yan joined the newly formed side Wuhan Zall who competed in the third tier. By the 2010 season, he established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper in the team and in the 2012 campaign Wu Yan helped them to win the China League One and break into the top flight.
In between 2007 and 2011, Wu Yan featured for the China national U20 and U23 teams.
