Xabi Castillo. Biography

Xabier Castillo Araguru is a Spanish left defender who plays for UD Las Palmas.

He spent the biggest part of his career ladder for Athletic Bilbao but eventually became a main squad player of Real Sociedad. His senior debut came on loan at Las Palmas in the Segunda of 2006/07. The first two campaigns at Real Sociedad were successful as he was a firm main squad player even though not playing on the top level.

On July 15, 2009 Castillo decided to return to the club signing a 4-year contract. On August 30, 2009 he made his debut for Athletic Bilbao in the very first game of the season. The quality of his play allowed him to make 45 appearances in 2 years at the club. Unfortunately in the season 2011/12 the player was left out of the squad for his patellar ligament injury.

In the summer 2013 Castillo completed a move to UD Las Palmas.
