Francisco Jiménez Tejada is a striker of a Segunda side Cordoba. He was born on 26 June 1986 in Palma, Spain.
In 2004 the footballer moved to the reserve team of Deportivo after training in the academy of the club. He took part in almost every match of Deportivo B and amassed a lot of goals during first two years. Then the Spanish player was involved in several games of the first team, where he felt as comfortable as in reserves despite different level of play in both squads. The striker made 53 appearances for Deportivo B and scored 39 goals.
In 2006 there was a break in the player’s Deportivo performance, as he was sent on a one-year loan to Vecindario. Francisco soon adapted to the new conditions in spite of all difficulties and competition. The footballer took part in 27 matches and went on to net 13 times during the season, which strengthened his reputation in the Spanish football. In the summer 2007 Jiménez went back to his parent Deportivo and spent one more year with the club, making 44 appearances and contributing 12 goals during the career in the first team.
In the summer 2008 the Spanish striker signed a contract with Newcastle United on permanent basis. He spent one year in England and went on loan to Spanish side Racing Santander, where he found the net three times in 23 games during the season. In 2011 Tejada performed for his native Deportivo, but this time on loan. His loan spell was later extended to the 2011/2012 season. In 2013 the Spaniard joined Cordoba.
From 2007 till 2009 Francisco was capped 11 times for the Spain national U21 team and banged in three goals.
