Xu Deshuai was born on 13 January 1987 in Dalian, China. He currently plays as a midfielder for Sun Pegasus in the Hong Kong First Division League.
Xu began playing football at his hometown side Dilian Shide. In 2004, he was promoted to the first team of the club but spent the whole season warming the bench as an unused substitute. In 2005, the club’s management sent Deshuai on loan to Citizen and his career really took off there. The midfielder made 31 solid appearances during a three-year stint on loan, and the club decided to sign Deshuai on a permanent deal in 2008. He scored his first and second senior career goal in a game against Hong Kong Sheffield United in May 2009. The string of his terrific performances, 7 goals in 23 appearances, earned Deshuai the Hong Kong Top Footballers of the Year title in 2009.
In the 2010/11 season, Xu Deshuai was snapped up by Hong Kong giants South China where he played for two years. He pulled off his debut season with the club as the Hong Kong League Cup and FA Cup winner. In 2012, Xu Deshuai signed for Sun Pegasus and plays for the club till today.
Since 2005 till 2006, Xu Deshuai earned 3 caps to the China U19 team. Since 2008, he is capped to the Hong Kong national team.
