Xu Yang is a footballer from China, currently playing for the Chinese Super League side Henan Jianye as a midfielder. He was born in 1987 in Shandong, China.
A graduate from Shandong Luneng youth academy, Xu Yang moved to the senior squad but didn’t make there a single appearance. In 2006, he went to Serbia and spent the end of the 2006/07 season at FK Beograd, without making a single appearance for the team. For the 2007/08 season he returned to Shandong Luneng but still wasn’t given playing time at all.
In 2008, Xu Yang transferred to Henan Jianye. There he got enough playing time and since then he features in the major part of their games. During his first season he appeared in 13 league matches and became one of the important players in the team.
In 2009, he earned the cap representing the China national team in a friendly game against Iran, which ended in a 1-0 win.
