Yacine Brahimi. Biography
A French footballer Yacine Brahimi is a midfielder. His football career developed at ASB Montreuil and CO Vincennois. In 2003 he was selected to study at Clairefontaine academy that he attended for the following three years.
After the graduation from the academy a young midfielder signed a contract with Rennes. While at the club’s youth academy Yacine received several awards. When he became a professional player he was given out on loan to Division 2 club Clermont Foot. During the 2009/10 season at Clermont Foot his career was quite successful and so the player immediately turned into the subject of effective speculation and transfer. In 2010 Brahimi returned to Rennes.
The player is a French youth international and has performed at all levels. In 2009 he featured for U-19 team that reached the semifinals at the UEFA European Football Championship in the same year. Currently Yacine plays for the France national U-21 football team. He made his debut as a member of that team in September 2010.
His youth career started at ASB Montreuil in which Brahimi spent 4 years. Then he joined CO Vincennois where once trained a well-known French footballer from Ligue 1 Blaise Matuidi. Two years later the midfielder was admitted to Clairefontaine academy where he could hone his skills. He studied at the academy and at the weekends played with his team. His last year at the academy the player spent at the Camp des Loges (the youth training center of Paris Saint-Germain) where he trained together with his teammate from youth international Mamadou Sakho.
Despite the fact that numerous French and European clubs hunted for a promising midfielder he gave his preference to Rennes signing for the club. As a part of that team Yacine participated in the championship at U-19 level. He quickly integrated into the team and astonished the club’s management by his talent. Alongside another stars of the club he contributed a lot to the club’s development. At the age of 16 Brahimi won the Tournoi Carisport. Two years later in the 2006/07 season when he was 18 he won the league championship. In 2008 his team gained its greatest prize – the Coupe Gambardella.
In the ensuing 2007/08 season on 23 June the player signed with the club his first professional contract for three years until the summer of 2011. In spite of that the midfielder was not given shirt number in the senior team. He played in the Championnat de France amateur team of the fourth division. He scored 3 goals in 22 appearances helping his team to be the first in their group. Consequently the team got to the semifinals but lost to Lyon.
After a successful season in France Rennes made a decision that it would be better to loan the young player where he would be given more playing time. On 3 July 2009 it was announced that Yacine would join Clermont Foot from Ligue 2 on loan for the whole 2009/10 season. He made his club debut in the opening match of the season appearing as a substitute against AC Arles-Avignon. The player netted his first goal for the new club on 25 September in the match against Angers SCO. In open play he scored his first goal on 4 December against SC Bastia. Two weeks later the midfielder set up a goal once again. That time in the match against Guingamp.
On 23 March 2010 he netted a goal against AC Ajaccio and one more goal three days later during the match with FC Istres. The player’s impressive play put Clermont Foot ahead to 4th place in the league standings and only three points detached the team from cherished aim. The midfielder continued to score goals to Le Havre AC and Guingamp. However in the match against Arles-Avignon he received a yellow card.
When the season was over in May 2010 Yacine returned to Rennes in spite of the great interest from English Arsenal FC and Spanish Real Madrid CF agents. On 7 August 2010 occurred Brahimi’s debut for Rennes in the match against Lille OSC when he stepped on the field in 71 minutes. The midfielder agreed to a 4-year deal with the club until June 2012.
The player netted his first goal for Rennes on 14 August 2010 in the match against AS Nancy. Yacine Brahimi scored a double to Arles-Avignon and on 5 February 2011 – a goal against PSG.
In 2012 he was loaned to Granada and later penned a permanent deal with the Spanish club. in the summer 2014 the midfielder was snapped by Porto.
