Yevhen Opanasenko was born on 25 August 1990 in the Ukrainian SSR. He plays as a midfielder for FC Metalurh Zaporizhya.
Opanasenko trained firstly at FC Krystal Kherson, then Yevhen went on to train at Metalurh Zaporizhya football academy for four years, where he gained knowledge and skills. Opanasenko acquired playing experience, being a very promising player for four years. He managed to perform for the reserve team in 2007, which was the next step after the youth team.
After having graduated from FC Metalurh academy, Yevhen signed a professional contract for more than 4 years. The first season of his professional career the player spent in the reserve team, and even if the season wasn't ultimate, he displayed himself perfectly. During the season Opanasenko remained one of the key defensive players, appearing in 27 games and scoring 3 goals.
In 2008 Yevhen joined the first squad. The footballer participated in a few matches for the club, during which the manager kept an eye on the player in order to understand how Opanasenko could make himself useful to the club. In the following season, the midfielder was often involved in the games, playing in 53 matches and scoring 2 goals.
At international level Opanasenko debuted in the Ukraine national U-21 team in 2010, making 5 caps.
