Zhao Peng is a Chinese football player. He currently represents Guangzhou Evergrande, playing as a defender. He was born in 1983 in Bengbu, Anhui, China. He had a trial at the youth academy of Henan Jianye in the late 1990s and succeeded to study at the academy. After graduating Zhao Peng joined the first team in 2009. He helped his side to get promotion to the Chinese Super League and finish the league third, that was their highest ever position. Later on he became one of the team’s key players.
After the club was relegated from the Super League Zhao Peng moved to the champion side Guangzhou Evergrande.
Since 2009, Zhao Peng represents the China national team. He earned his first international cap in May 2009, in a friendly match against Germany, ended in 1-1 draw. He netted his first goal in September 2009, the match was a 4-1 win against Botswana.
