Zhao Xuri was born on 3 December 1985 in Dalian, China. In 2000 the footballer started his junior career in Dalian Wanda. In 2002 he began playing professionally for Dalian Saidelong. Zhao didn’t show his worth and failed to appear on the football field with his new team.
In 2003 Sichuan Guancheng took an interest in the young player. Zhao show himself to advantage and kicked 2 goals in 27 matches for this Chinese team. In the next year he didn’t appear on the field due to the injury and took part only in 10 games. Zhao featured in 37 matches for Sichuan Guancheng overall and scored 4 goals.
In 2005 the footballer transferred to Dalian Shide. Zhao fully recovered from the injury and started to deliver impressive performance. In 2005 Zhao Xuri won the Chinese Super League title together with his club-mates. He made 121 appearances for Dalian Shide and found the net 10 times. In 2010 Xuri completed a move to Shaanxi Renhe where he played 50 games.
In December 2011 the footballer sealed a deal with Guangzhou Evergrande. Zhao made his debut on 25 February 2012. He has already featured in more than 20 games for this club where he is utilized as a midfielder.
In 2003 Zhao Xuri was first called up to the China national football team to play in the East Asian Cup. He made his debut on 7 December 2003 in a match against South Korea. The midfielder scored his first and so far the only goal for the senior side in a game against Hong Kong on 10 December 2003.
In 2008 Xuri made 2 appearances for the China U-23 football team. In 2009 the footballer was brought back into the senior team and participated in a match against Germany on 29 May 2009. All in all, Zhao Xuri has been capped more than 50 times for China national football team.
