Zheng Kewei is a former midfielder. He was born on 21 January 1980 in Zhabei, China.
From 1999 to 2000 Zheng Kewei was a product of Shanghai Shenhua’s academy. The young footballer managed to achieve excellent results which allowed him to make it to the main team. In 2000 Zheng Kewei penned his first professional contract with Shanghai Shenhua. Zheng began getting into the starting XI from the first season which was quite successful for the footballer. He kept on developing his skills which made him one of the most promising young players of the club. The head coach appreciated his talent and began including the midfielder in the starting line-up more often. From 2000 to 2008 he made 135 appearances for Shanghai Shenhua.
In 2009 Zheng Kewei was farmed out to Nanchang Bayi where he spent more than a season. This loan spell was a success for Zheng because he was given as much game practice as possible. In 2011 the footballer joined Hangzhou Greentown on a long-term professional contract. Kewei stayed at the club until retirement in late 2012.
