Zlatko Junuzović was born on 26 September 1987 in Loznica, Serbia (former SFR Yugoslavia). In his youth Junuzović became an Austrian citizen, due to which he represents the corresponding national squad.
Zlatko began his youth career at the age of five, when he joined Kühnsdorf. In 1999 the young midfielder moved to VST Völkermarkt, where he spent only one season. Not having got along with the club’s management, the footballer went on to Grazer AK, where he played for 6 years.
In 2005 the club offered Junuzović to sign a professional contract. Zlatko accepted the offer and performed successfully for Grazer AK first team till 2007, when he signed for the first division side SK Austria Kärnten. In the summer of 2009 the footballer moved to Austrian giants Austria Wien, where he netted 21 goals in 82 games, attracting the attention of several European clubs. Thanks to his results, on 30 January 2012 the Austrian player transferred to Werder Bremen. Zlatko had no difficulties in becoming a regular player.
Junuzović was capped for the Austria U-19, U-20, and U-21 teams. He competed for Austria during the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where his team claimed the 4th place. Zlatko debuted for the senior squad in March 2006 in a friendly game versus Canada.
