Zou Zheng is a Chinese midfielder, born on 7 February 1988 in Qingdao, China.
In 2001 Zou passed a trial with the youth football academy of FC Qingdao Jonoon during which he managed to demonstrate his natural talent and hard-working mentality. The academy’s coaching staff was really impressed with the young talent and accepted his application to become its educatee. Since then Zou started getting ready to his professional career.
Zheng was used in a midfielder position from his very first days at the academy, as the youngster possessed all the qualities needed to become a prosperous wide midfielder. In 2007 he finally finished the institution and got ready to the professional stage of his career.
Zou signed a professional contract with the club the same year right after finishing the academy, as the club was unwilling to lose such a home-grown talent. Soon the player made his first-team debut appearance on 4 November 2007 during a 2-2 draw with FC Shenzhen Xiangxue.
For the first two seasons at the club he was mostly used as a substitute, gradually increasing his playing time. However, being a versatile player, who is able to play both as a left-midfielder and a left-back, he soon managed to become an indispensable first-team member for the Chinese Super League club.
