Faroe Islands Premier League is the top division in the Faroe Islands that was founded in 1942. The title of the league is contested by 10 clubs. The tournament is organized by the Faroe Islands Football Association.

The teams that finish bottom are relegated to the First Division. The winner of the league receives a ticket to the qualifying round of the Champions League. The teams that finish second and third compete in the Europa League.
