The German Bundesliga is the main professional football league in Germany, which includes 18 clubs. The championship starts in August and lasts till May. Each team plays 34 games in total.
The history of Bundesliga started in 1932 when the president of the German Football Association Felix Linnemann announced that Germany is ready to have its own football league. Before that teams had played at an amateur level and Felix wanted to give a boost to football in Germany. But then the War began and the decision to establish the German Football League was only taken in the year of 1962 in the Golden Hall of WestfalenHalle Bundestag. The launch was scheduled for 1963-1964.
All that had to be done at that point was to complete the pool of teams to play in the championship in short terms and after discussion the organizers finally decided to invite several teams from each region to take part in the championship. In general 46 clubs applied for an entry. Their competitive results for the last ten years were the main criterion for organizers to choose the participants.
As a result Bayern Munich didn’t get into the list of pioneers of the German Football League. At that time the club was the third in the standings of its region.
