Icelandic Úrvalsdeild or the Úrvalsdeild karla is the top division of football league system in Iceland. It was named Pepsi-deildin because of the sponsorship deal. The league competitions last from May to September. It is controlled by the Football Association of Iceland. There are 12 teams playing in Úrvalsdeild and throughout the season every team play twice with each other. Two bottom teams are relegated to 1. deild karla, the second tier and the top two clubs from the First Division (1. deild karla) advance to Úrvalsdeild. The most titled teams are KR, Valur, ÍA and Fram Reykjavík.
The Úrvalsdeild winner goes to play in the UEFA Champions League Second qualifying round and runner-up and third-placed teams get a chance to play in the UEFA Europa League First qualifying round.
