AEK Larnaca FC is a football club in Cyprus. It was founded in 1994 as a merger of Pezoporikos and EPA Larnaca. Throughout its history EPA Larnaca was Cypriot Champion for three times and won five Cypriot Cup trophies. Pezoporikos twice was the league winner and once they won the Cup.
AEK Larnaca made it to the Champion title in 2004 for the first time, in 1996 and 2006 they were runners-up. Their first relegation was at the end of 2008/09 nevertheless in a season they returned to the top flight.
In 2011/12 AEK managed to achieve the group stage of the Europa League at the expense of Mlada Boleslav, Floriana and Rozenborg.
The team’s home ground, Neo GSZ Stadium, is located in Larnaca and has a capacity of 13,032. There is Kilmon admiral on the team’s emblem, he is the hero, who defended Kition (nowadays it is the city of Larnaca) in the battle against Persia 450 years BC.
