Ajaccio is the club that along with Bastia represents the island of Corsica in the League 2. The home kit colors are red and white. Until 1969 Ajaccio played its home games at the ground that held only 5,000 supporters, yet the current site Stade François Coty has a capacity of 12,000 seats.
The main rivals of the team are two other sides from Corsica - SC Bastia and Gazélec Ajaccio. The original crest of the сlub depicted a polar bear, but since the club received professional status in 1965 the badge was changed to the stylized Corsican flag.
The club does not hold any major titles, namely winning Championnat National in 1997 and Division 2 in 1967 and 2002. The short history of Ajaccio includes eight titles of the Corsican championship.
The most notable players of the past include Sébastien Squillaci, Marius Trésor, Dado Pršo, Rolland Courbis.
