Angers SCO or Angers Sporting Club de l’Ouest is a football club in France, which was founded in 1919. Throughout its history and up to the year of 2012 the team had 23 seasons in Ligue 1 and 36 seasons in Ligue 2. In 2007 Angers won promotion from Championnat National and advanced to Ligue 2.
In 1969 and 1976 the team was the winner of Division 2. In 1957 it was the finalist of Coupe de France, in 1992 Angers played in the final of Coupe de la Ligue. The team made its European debut in 1971/72 UEFA Cup, after finishing fourth in the league.
Their home venue is Stade Jean Bouin, which has a capacity of 18,000.
