Aris is a Greek professional football side located in Thessaloniki. Named after the Greek god of war, the side was established in 1914. The home ground of the club is Kleanthis Vikelidis Stadium which has a capacity of 22,800 seats. The team colours are black and yellow.
Aris contributed to the foundation of Macedonia Football Clubs Association and the Hellenic Football Federation. Nowadays Aris competes in the Superleague Greece. The club won 3 national league titles and the 1970 Greek Cup. Aris also claimed a number of league trophies on local and regional levels. The club hasn’t been defeated at home in UEFA competitions since 1968, thus holding a record of 26 undefeated home games. Its most successful European campaign was the 1979/1980 UEFA Cup, when Aris reached the third round.
