Arsenal Kyiv was a football team from the capital of Ukraine. The club had previously been known as CSKA and played in the minor leagues of Soviet football pyramid. In 1994 CSKA merged with FC Boryspil, forming a new club, yet the union did not last and two seasons later the clubs split apart and CSKA started competing in lower leagues. The side twice climbed to the final of the Ukrainian Cup (in 1998 and 2001), where they lost to Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk respectively.
In the early 2000s the team was reorganized and given to Kiev City authorities, who adopted the name Arsenal.
Later the team was purchased by Ukrainian businessman Vadim Rabinovich, who invested large amounts of money into the club, transforming it into a strong force in the Ukrainian Premier League. Since that moment Arsenal finished fifth in domestic championship and reached the semi-final of the Ukrainian Cup in the season 2010/2011.
In 2013 the club experienced financial difficulties and was later dissolved.
The home arena of the team was Dynamo Stadium with a capacity of 16,873.
