Botev Vratsa

POFC Botev Vratsa is a football club in Bulgaria, established in 1921. Since its foundation and till 1957 many sport clubs in the city joined FC Botev Vratsa. In the period between 1957 and 1964 the tem competed in the second tier of Bulgarian football system, before 1964 when they won promotion to the top flight. In 1971 Botev Vratsa was third in the league and played in the 1971/72 UEFA Cup, being eliminated from the first round by Dinamo Zagreb.

At the end of 1989/90 the team faced relegation after 26 seasons in the top division. Since then they had a long period of mixed success altering between the third and the second divisions. In 2009 they won promotion to B Group and after their success in 2010/11 they advanced to A Group. In 2013 Botev Vratsa were relegated back to B Group.
