Clube Atlético Bragantino is a Brazilian football club from Bragança Paulista in São Paulo state founded in 1928.
In their early years the club led largely unremarked existence in lower leagues of Brazilian football system. Bragantino announced about themselves in 1990 when they made their first run into the major Brazilian competition Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and won their first Campeonato Paulista title. In 1991, the team enjoyed even better fortune as they finished as runners-up in Série A, their best achievement ever. In 1992, the club got a first taste of international action competing in the Copa CONMEBOL. It’s a tidbit, that in between 1989 and 1992 Bragantino were often nicknamed the Clockwork Sausage for their agility and success. And of course the moniker was determined by then-popular movie A Clockwork Orange and the fact that the town of Bragança Paulista was a big sausage producer.
In the 2000s, their fortunes changed. Bragantino suffered gradual slump and mostly rotated between the third and the second tiers. Since the 2008 season they compete in the Brazilian Série B.
Bragantino play their home games at Nabi Abi Chedid stadium which can host up to 21,200 spectators.
