Fotbal Club Brașov is a football club in Romania, located in Brașov. The club was founded in 1936 and competed in lower divisions until 1950, when they advanced to Division B under the guidance of Silviu Ploeșteanu. He was at the helm of the team for 21 years.
In 1959/60 Brașov was runner-up in the domestic league. The following decade the team mostly featured in Divizia B and three players were called up to represent the national team at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. In 1980 and 1990s the team altered between the first and the second divisions.
In 2001 the Brașov was third in the Liga I but in 2005 they faced relegation. Nevertheless winning the 2007/08 Liga II they advanced to the top flight.
The team plays their home matches at Silviu Ploeșteanu stadium, which has a capacity of 8,800. Their kit is yellow and black.
