Brentford is a football club that was established on 10 October 1889.The team played its first match on 23 November 1889 against Kew FC.
Brentford is one of the founders of the Third Division South.
The club won promotion to the First Division in the season 1932/1922 and in its inaugural campaign finished 5th in the table which is the best result in the top flight. During the following decade the side kept reaching high places (6th in two seasons). After the Second World War the club went on a downward spiral and even faced relegation to the Third Division in the season 1953/1954 and the Fourth Division in 1961/1962.
Brentford was floating up and down Division 3 and 4 for several decades reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals in 1989. During the 1990s the team played in the Second Division and was close to promotion to the top league, yet lost in the play-offs to Crewe Alexandra. At the end of 2013/2014 season Brentford were promoted to Championship.
The nickname of the side is the Bees.
The home ground is the Griffin Park that can hold up to 12,219. Brentford’s home colors are red and white.
