Celta Vigo is a Spanish football club based in the city of Vigo. It was founded on August 23, 1923 as a result of merging of two football clubs, Real Fortuna and Real Sporting. The club holds home games at the 31,800 capacity Balaídos Municipal Stadium (Vigo, Galicia). The President of the club is Carlos Mouriño. The club’s traditional home colours are sky blue and white with red elements, while its away colours are red with blue elements. In the 2000 season the club won the UEFA Intertoto Cup. In the final game Celta triumphed over Zenit from St. Petersburg with a 2-1 win at home and a drawn game 2-2 in St. Petersburg. Three times the club reached the Copa del Rey final: in 1948, 1994 and 2001.
