C.D. Chivas USA is a football club from Los Angeles, California.
It was founded in 2004 and named in honor of the most popular Mexican club’s (Guadalajara) nickname. The name Chivas may be translated as Goats. The colors and emblem were also taken from the Mexican oldest club.
The first season wasn’t a success but then Goats were the constant competitors of MLS Cup play-offs. In 2007 Chivas were the winners of MLS Western Conference.
The Home Depot Center with the capacity of 18,800 is the team’s home arena.
