Clermont Foot Auvergne 63 is a football team in France, known as Clermont or Clermont Foot. It was established in 1911 and was named Stade Clermontois. Throughout its history the team lost its professional status and the modern football club was formed in 1990.
In the 1945/46 season the team reached the semifinal of the Coupe de France but the following season they lost their professional status, which they regained in 1966.
In 1984 the club merged with AS Montferrand, formed Clermont-Ferrand Football Club and began to compete in the third tier. Later its name was changed to Clermont Foot Auvergne and in 1993 they earned promotion to Ligue 2. Since then Clermont has competed in the third or second division, in 2006/07 they won the Championnat National (third level of the football league system in France).
The club is based in Clermont-Ferrand and its home venue, Stade Gabriel Montpied, has a capacity of 10,607 spectators.
