History and achievements
Derby County is a football club based in Derby, England.
The club was created in 1884 by William Morley. The team spent most of its history in the top two divisions of the English football pyramid. Derby reached the FA Cup final three teams in the 1900s, yet did not manage to win any of the matches.
In 1924 the first emblem of the team was introduced. The first silverware of the club was claimed in the season 1945/1946 as the side won the FA Cup. The 1970s gave Derby true glory as the side was twice crowned the English champions and reached the semi-final of the European Cup, also clinching other minor trophies. Two seasons later Derby embarked on a gradual slide and could not reach top 5.
The home ground of the team is Pride Park that can hold up to 33,597. The major rivals are Leicester City, Nottingham Forest and Leeds United.
